Governance Calendar
A serious institution publishes its cadence. A governance calendar shows that meetings, reviews, and formation milestones are deliberate rather than improvised.
Current cadence
The Foundation should operate on a simple, public schedule:
- Quarterly board meetings
- Annual governance review
- Ad hoc committee sessions as needed
- Formation milestone reviews during the board buildout period
Formation milestones
- Board role definition finalized
- Conflict and conduct policies published
- Board packet assembled
- Initial candidate outreach completed
- Prospective directors reviewed against independence criteria
- First seated board meeting scheduled
What the calendar communicates
- The Foundation has a real rhythm of governance.
- Board work is planned, not improvised.
- Service has a measurable commitment attached to it.
- Candidates can judge fit before committing.
